NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.
Visit the department’s website for more information about religion and ethics.
Campbellfield Public School offers special religious education (SRE) in Catholic, Islamic and Protestant scriptures. Religious providers deliver these services for half an hour each Friday at 10.20am, with all classes supervised by the school's teaching staff.
In the times set aside for special religious education, students not attending are supervised by a teacher in a separate classroom. Teachers engage these students in activities which do not compete with special religious education nor structured lessons within the curriculum.
Our school offers a number of options for students to participate in special religious education. These classes are taught by volunteer religious teachers on Fridays in 30 minute classes.
